Over the years I tried to emulate my grand-mother’s cooking. That amazing thanksgiving smell that can only be created in her kitchen. No matter my technique, I could never get it quite right. The Jamaicans swear it is the ‘ting, spice from your hand. Asmov says it’s like water for chocolate. She calls it a Ro DAY Oh. I call it life. Try as we may, our recipes and reasons are uniquely our own.
Rodeo Kitchen is my personal handbook. Let my transparency and compassion inspire you to grow in authentic character. Laugh with me as I laugh at myself.
This blog began as a virtual cookbook. One of my favorite gigs, managing a cooking school for children, led me to draft several volumes of actual food making instructions. Since then, life has changed considerably. As it should…..
I have studied both pharmacology and nutrition at the collegiate level, as well as early childhood education. All over this country, I am blessed to share my medicine creating food, art, and caregiving. From learning the Gerson diet in 1995 to RSO in 2020, I seek alternative treatments and am happy to share my knowledge. We are all a work in progress.
If you’d like my help taking care of something, a business, a child, a dog, an elder, or even yourself, please don’t hesitate to ask. My wish is to comfort what ails you. My mission is to lighten your load. I aim to teach creativity and humility throughout all stages of life. Enjoy my virtual collection and don’t forget to indulge your whims.
